¹⁶ For God so loved^(A) the world that he gave^(B) his one and only Son,^(C) that whoever believes^(D) in him shall not perish but have eternal life.^(E)

¹¹ Dear friends,^(A) since God so loved us,^(B) we also ought to love one another.^(C)

¹² In a loud voice they were saying:

⁸ All inhabitants of the earth^(A) will worship the beast—all whose names have not been written in the Lamb’s book of life,^(B) the Lamb^(C) who was slain from the creation of the world.^[a](D)

⁹ For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead,^(A) he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him.^(B)

²³ that the Messiah would suffer^(A) and, as the first to rise from the dead,^(B) would bring the message of light to his own people and to the Gentiles.”^(C)
